Even as singer K J Yesudas completed 50 years in the music industry, a charitable organisation, Janaseva Munnani, has announced a fast in front of the Guruvayur Sree Krishna temple demanding that Yesudas be allowed entry into the temple. Yesudas, a Christian is not allowed inside the temple as the shrine allows entry only to Hindus.
Munnani president Soman Pillai said ten persons would join him on a token fast on May 1. The argument is that Yesudas has sung hundreds of songs in praise of Lord Krishna hence it is all the more ironical that a devout like him is not allowed entry into the temple.
